PARENTS & GUARDIANS
TRAVEL - COORDINATION AND LOGISTICS

For many participants, this may be their first time on a flight or traveling to another country. Program staff will coordinate closely with participants and parents to ensure students arrive to the destination city in a safe and timely manner. This includes assistance through the process of obtaining a passport, coordinating flights, and ground transportation.
The students’ safety and comfort will be a top priority in this program, and staff will guide students through all phases of the international flight process, including check-in, customs, departure, and arrival.
Program staff will be present at the destination city’s airport for pick-up and transportation to the program site.
Prior to departure, students will be provided with instructions to adjust phone settings so that they are fully functional upon arrival in the host country. If necessary, students will be provided with a cell phone prior to their arrival.

STUDENT SUPERVISION

It is our utmost priority to ensure the safety of our participants. As such, participants will be accompanied by program staff members throughout the entire duration of their trip - from the moment students arrive at the destination city's airport until the moment they embark on their return flight home.

More specifically, this will include airport pick up, transportation to the site, throughout the site visit, during "leisure time" activities (both scheduled and unscheduled) , and return to the airport.
MEDICAL SERVICES

Through our partnership with AMIGOS, participants will receive pre-trip health and safety training and prevention programs. While on site, participants will have access to 24/7 on-call emergency assistance, manned by three full-time health and safety staff members at AMIGO's national office. Furthermore, with AMIGOS' trusted relationships with local community members and pre-screened local hospitals, participants will have access to medical assistance at all times.
